Private Party Entertainment in Johannesburg & Pretoria

Birthdays, milestones, engagements and celebrations at home. A fire act on the lawn or an aerialist over the pool deck — scaled to the space and the guest list, not to a stage.

At Home

Acts that fit a garden, not a ballroom

Private parties are the most enjoyable work we do and the most frequently underestimated. A fire act on a lawn with forty guests standing three metres away has a physical intensity that no ballroom set can match — and that closeness is exactly why the space has to be planned properly rather than improvised on the evening.

We come out, look at the garden, the pool deck, the driveway and the trees, and design around what is actually there. Overhanging branches, low awnings and proximity to thatch all matter, and we will tell you plainly if fire is not appropriate and put the LED version on the table instead.

Milestone Birthdays

30ths, 40ths, 50ths and 21sts — a four-minute feature act that turns a party into an occasion.

Engagements & Proposals

A discreetly timed act as the frame for the moment, coordinated with whoever is in on it.

Anniversaries

A single aerial or fire piece choreographed to a song that means something to you.

Poolside & Garden Parties

Roaming flow and fire scaled to a domestic space, working close to guests.

Themed Parties

Costuming and choreography built to a theme — carnival, Gatsby, Moulin Rouge, Bollywood.

Kids’ & Family Events

Daytime LED, flag and flow performance with no open flame, pitched for a family audience.

The Signature Score

A song that exists for one person only

At most milestone parties the entertainment has nothing to do with the person it is for. A band plays covers, a DJ takes requests, and it could be anybody’s birthday. We do the opposite.

Every booking includes an original piece of music composed about the person being celebrated — their story, the year they were born, the things their friends would recognise. We compose three original pieces from your brief and you choose the one that fits. The fire or aerial act is choreographed to it, and the recording is theirs to keep.

Equally, if there is a song they love — the one that follows them around, or the track from the year everyone is teasing them about — we choreograph to that instead. The Score is an option, not a condition of booking.

Four minutes, and everyone in the room understands the show is about them. Each piece is composed complete rather than as a draft, so we cannot edit one afterwards — which is why you choose from three finished pieces instead of approving one.

Practicalities

What a home booking involves

Most private bookings are a single performer or a pair, one or two short sets, and a load-in that takes under an hour. We bring everything: apparatus, a free-standing rig where aerial is involved (hired separately, delivery and installation included), sound if you need it, fire safety equipment and a safety officer. What we need from you is a flat, clear area, a power point within reach, and somewhere for performers to change.

We perform across Johannesburg, Sandton, Fourways, Bryanston, Randburg, the East Rand, Pretoria and Centurion, and travel further with travel costs itemised. Estates with security protocols are routine for us — send us the access requirements and we will handle the paperwork with the estate directly.

Cost

Smaller than most people expect

Private party bookings are usually the most affordable thing we do, because the performer count is low and the set is short. The variables are the number of performers, whether aerial rigging is required, travel distance, and how late you want us on site. A single fire artist doing two short sets at a Johannesburg home is a very different figure to a festival ensemble, and we would rather quote you honestly than push you upward.

Tell us the date, the address, roughly how many guests, and what the occasion is. We will suggest what actually suits the space — including telling you when a smaller act will land better than a bigger one.

Questions

What clients ask us

How does The Signature Score work?

You tell us the story — how you met, what matters, anything you want woven in. We compose three original pieces from that brief and send them to you. You choose the one that is right, the act is choreographed to it, and the recording is yours to keep. Each piece is composed complete rather than as a rough draft, so we cannot edit one after it exists. That is why you get three finished options to choose between rather than one to approve. You are also free to skip it entirely and give us a song of your own to choreograph to — the Score is an option, not a condition of booking.

Can you perform fire at a private home?

Usually yes, on a lawn, driveway or paved area with clearance from trees, awnings and thatch. We do a site visit first and will tell you honestly if the space is not suitable — in which case the LED version gives the same choreography with no flame.

Can you do aerial in a garden with no rigging point?

Yes. We supply free-standing aerial rigs — hired separately from the performance fee, with delivery and installation included — so gardens, pool decks and marquees all work. We need a flat, firm footprint and clearance around the rig.

How much space do you need?

For a single fire performer, roughly a five-metre clear circle with a marked perimeter. Aerial on a free-standing rig needs a firm, level footprint and overhead clearance. We confirm the exact requirement on the site visit.

Is it affordable for a birthday party?

Private bookings are typically our most affordable work, because the performer count is low and the sets are short. Send us the date, address, guest numbers and occasion and we will quote honestly — including telling you when a smaller act will land better.

Do you perform for children’s parties?

Yes, with daytime LED, flag and flow performance and no open flame, pitched for a family audience.
