Twisted Cirque Live
Certified fire breathers, fire dancers and flow artists who turn an ordinary evening into the part of the night everyone films. Fully insured, self-rigged and safety-certified — across Gauteng and nationwide.
Anyone can spin a burning stick. What clients book us for is the choreography around it — a set built to a piece of music, timed to a moment in the running order, and lit so that the flames read as the brightest thing in the room. Our fire performers work as an ensemble, moving in formation, so the effect is a designed spectacle rather than a few tricks strung together.
Most clients in Johannesburg and Pretoria book fire for one of three moments: the arrival, when guests walk in from the parking area and need to be told immediately that this evening is different; the reveal, when a product, a couple or a headline act needs a frame; and the send-off, the last five minutes that people describe to colleagues on Monday morning. We will happily tell you which of those your event actually needs.
The signature shot — controlled bursts of flame on a musical cue, performed by artists certified for professional fire breathing.
Fluid, close-quarters flow work that reads beautifully on camera and suits tighter venues and courtyards.
High-speed spinning and contact work that fills a large outdoor space and holds a crowd.
Two to six performers in synchronised choreography for large-scale arrivals, finales and festival stages.
Roaming performers working the crowd over a longer stretch rather than one staged piece — ideal for arrivals, drinks receptions and festival grounds.
Intimate, high-tension moments for close audiences and slow-build reveals.
Where a venue prohibits open flame, we run the identical choreography in LED and glow — no compromise on the visual.
Fire on a site plan means paperwork, and most of the questions we field from Gauteng venues and event managers are about exactly that. We are certified for professional fire performance, we carry our own extinguishers, fire blankets, safety officer and fuel-handling protocol, and we conduct a site inspection before we ever light up. We work off a clearly defined performance zone with a marked safety perimeter, and we brief your venue and your event manager in writing beforehand.
Practically, this means you can hand us to your venue and stop worrying about it. Indoor fire is possible far more often than people assume — the deciding factors are ceiling height, extraction, smoke detection and the venue’s own house rules, and we will tell you honestly on a site visit whether it will work or whether the LED version is the smarter call.
We are based in Gauteng and perform most weekends across Johannesburg, Sandton, Midrand, Randburg, Fourways, the East Rand, Pretoria and Centurion. Outdoor venues, farm and bushveld wedding venues, hotel forecourts, warehouse spaces and festival grounds are all regular ground for us. We travel nationally for festivals and corporate work — Cape Town, Durban, the Garden Route and the Lowveld — and internationally on request, with travel and accommodation quoted transparently up front.
If your venue is somewhere we have not worked before, we will ask for photographs or a site visit. Fire is one of the few acts where the space genuinely determines what is possible, and we would rather redesign the set than shrink it on the night.
There is no flat rate for fire performance, and any supplier quoting one before seeing your brief is guessing. Pricing turns on the number of performers, the length and number of sets, whether the act is ambient roaming or a staged feature, travel distance, and what the venue requires in the way of safety cover. A single roaming fire artist at a private party and a six-performer synchronised finale at a festival are different productions.
Every booking includes The Signature Score: an original piece of music composed for your event, with three finished options to choose from, and the act choreographed to the one you pick. The recording is yours to keep — or, if you would rather we performed to a song of your own choosing, we do that instead.
To quote accurately we need four things: your date, your venue, roughly how many guests, and what you want the fire to do — welcome people, frame a reveal, or close the night. Send those and you will have a bespoke proposal with clear pricing, not a rate card.
Peak season in South Africa runs October to December and books out early. If your event falls in that window, three to six months of lead time is realistic; outside it we can often work at shorter notice.
Pricing depends on the number of performers, the length and number of sets, travel, and the safety cover your venue requires. A single roaming fire artist and a six-performer choreographed finale sit at very different points. Send us your date, venue and guest numbers and we will return a bespoke proposal with clear pricing.
Often, yes. It depends on ceiling height, extraction, smoke detection and the venue house rules. We conduct a site inspection first and tell you honestly whether indoor fire will work. Where it will not, we run the identical choreography in LED and glow.
Yes. We are certified for professional fire performance, we bring our own safety officer and full fire-suppression equipment, and we supply a written safety brief to your venue before the event.
A feature act runs about four minutes — the length of the piece of music it is choreographed to. Most events book two or three across an evening rather than one long block, so the effect lands more than once. We also perform ambient busking sets, where performers work the crowd over a longer stretch instead of delivering one staged piece.
Yes. We perform nationwide across South Africa and internationally on request. Travel and accommodation are quoted transparently up front.
