Twisted Cirque Live
Large-scale fire spectacles, aerial features and roaming flow acts for festivals, public events and city activations. We arrive self-sufficient and we plan for the weather.
A festival crowd is the least forgiving audience there is. Nobody is seated, nobody is obliged to watch, and there are three other things happening within earshot. Festival work is therefore a different craft to gala work: the choreography has to read at distance, the silhouettes have to be legible against a night sky, and the set has to build fast enough to stop someone who was walking past.
Four to six performers in synchronised fire choreography — the reliable crowd-stopper after dark.
Silks, lyra, straps and hammock on our own free-standing rigs, so no festival structure is needed.
Mobile performers working the crowd between stages, filling the dead space in a programme.
Short, high-energy sets that hold the audience through a band changeover.
Moving fire and flag work that leads a crowd from one area of a site to another.
The closing set the festival is remembered by, timed with your sound and lighting teams.
Festival organisers do not need another supplier who needs things. We supply our own free-standing aerial rigs, our own certified riggers, our own fire safety officer and suppression equipment, and our own crew. We need a footprint, a safety perimeter and a sound feed — not scaffolding, not a rigging contractor, and not somebody from your team standing by with an extinguisher.
Weather is the recurring festival problem, and we would rather have the awkward conversation in the planning meeting than at 19:00 on site. We agree wind thresholds for aerial and fire in advance, define who makes the call, and rehearse the alternative so a change of plan is not a cancellation.
The most common mistake is booking one long set. Feature acts run about four minutes each, and three short appearances across an evening reach a far larger share of a moving crowd than one long block, because festival audiences rotate. Where you need continuous presence rather than a set piece, our performers busk the crowd instead. We will happily look at your timing grid and tell you where the gaps actually are.
We perform at festivals and public events across Gauteng and nationally — Cape Town, Durban, the Garden Route, the Lowveld and the Free State — with travel, accommodation and crew costs itemised in the quote. For multi-day festivals we quote per day with a reduced rate for consecutive days on the same site.
No. We supply our own free-standing aerial rigs and certified riggers, so we do not depend on festival trusses or scaffolding. The rigs are quoted separately from the performance fee. We need a footprint, a safety perimeter and a sound feed.
Fire performance certification, rigging certification and load documentation, proof of insurance, method statements and a site-specific safety brief — supplied in advance for your permit file.
We agree wind and weather thresholds in writing during planning, define who makes the call and by when, and rehearse an LED alternative so a weather change means a different set rather than a cancelled one.
Three shorter appearances typically reach far more of a rotating crowd than one long set. Send us your timing grid and we will suggest placements around your stage changeovers.
Yes, nationwide. Travel, accommodation and crew costs are itemised, and multi-day bookings on the same site are quoted at a reduced daily rate.
